Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to achieving all its demands as the month-long “July March” reached Narsingdi on Wednesday.
Addressing a public rally at the Narsingdi Municipality courtyard, Nahid said, “The march that began in Rangpur has crossed the country and arrived today in the revolutionary city of Narsingdi. Over the past year, we faced many conspiracies, and we were denied the July Charter. But we haven’t backed down. We will achieve every one of our demands.”
The day’s march began from Jailkhana Mor on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway and passed through several key locations, including Narsingdi Government College, before culminating in the rally.
Expressing optimism about the future, Nahid declared, “In tomorrow’s Bangladesh, the NCP will emerge victorious. During the Uprising of ’24, the people of Narsingdi played a key role. Today, we honor all martyrs, especially Shaheed Tahmid of Narsingdi. If the people of Narsingdi gather at the Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on August 3, we will achieve our goals.”
The rally was attended by local leaders, students, professionals, and key NCP figures, including Sarjis Alam, chief organizer (Northern Region); Nasiruddin Patwari, chief coordinator; and Tasnim Zara, senior joint member secretary.
